As Thanksgiving approaches and you begin gear up for Black Friday and Cyber Monday – don’t forget about the local stores that make YOUR community unique! Anchored between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Small Business Saturday will be celebrated nationwide on November 30, 2019 and Wind River encourages you to participate.
Small Business Saturday was founded in 2010 in order to bring awareness to small businesses in America. American Express originally incentivized consumers to shop locally, however Small Business Saturday has since outgrown these roots. Each year the program continues to grow and has shifted into what American Express refers to as a Movement.
Now celebrating its 10th year, Small Business Saturday continues to be an annual shopping tradition. The small businesses that surround us offer unique products and services reflective of the communities they’re in. Every time you pick up a coffee at your local café or a new outfit form your local boutique, you’re making an impact in your community. Amex states that “for every dollar spent at a small business in the U.S., approximately 67 cents stays in the local community.”
So kick off your holiday shopping by showing your support for small businesses near you! Read more here on how to get involved and remember – SHOP SMALL!
