Today we wanted to take a moment to give a very special thank you to all of our customers. Even though we’re thankful for your business every day, today’s news gives us even more reason to be grateful. Here’s why.

The payment processing industry is competitive. There are a lot of options available, and many of the companies that offer such services continuously promote new and different tactics to win business.

With the constantly changing incentives, it should come as no surprise then that the average timespan a business stays with their payment processor is only 36 months. This number is even more stark when you consider that much of the industry locks new customers into a fairly standard three-year term.

At Wind River, our goal has always been to put customers first. We know there are a lot of options out there, which is why we created the After the Handshake Promise. After the Handshake means our customers get dedicated, around-the-clock support. We are proactive in our services and constantly look for ways to save you money and help your business grow. On top of that, we buck the trends of the industry and offer at-will agreements.

As such, it was definitely a pleasant surprise when we learned that our customers stay with us an average 5.3 years, almost double the industry average. Additionally, we have a large group of customers that have been with us since day one back in 1999, almost 20 years ago. No contracts. Just fair pricing and an emphasis on doing what’s right for the customer.
