Effective April 1, 2019, there are a number of new and revised interchange and network fee structures being implemented by Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express OptBlue.
Wind River Financial believes in transparency of all association fees applicable to your merchant processing costs, so we will be passing through these new fees with no mark-ups or changes. There are hundreds of fee structures and not all are applicable to all card types or to all merchants, so detailed below are the few that will affect most merchants’ day-to-day transaction processing costs. You can review a full listing of these new fees here.
Visa will introduce new International Acquirer Service fees as well as separate the US Credit Voucher BASE II Fee for international debit and credit transactions.
Mastercard is introducing new interchange programs to support Small Business Spend as well as new commercial card product codes for use with virtual card transactions. Mastercard is also revising the fee descriptors and rates for several existing consumer and commercial card interchange rates.
Discover is introducing a new Ecommerce Secured Acquirer Interchange Program as well as revising the rates for several existing consumer credit card interchange programs.
American Express OptBlue is introducing a new Virtual Payment Card Interchange Program as well as revising the tiers and rates for several existing consumer credit card interchange programs.
