For the past several years I have had the honor and privilege to lead the Wind River Financial team as President and Chief Executive Officer, but now the time has come to say good bye. With a work history spanning nearly 43 years, I will be retiring on April 29th, capping my business career with an 8+ year tenure at the company.
While at Wind River, I was fortunate to work with outstanding individuals driven by excellence and a desire to serve clients at an exceptional level. In addition, it was a pleasure to serve and work with so many businesses throughout Wisconsin and beyond. Clients and partners are what make Wind River a successful family business, allowing us to have the best people and a bright future.
In my time here, we have grown the business significantly in size, market presence and employees. We’ve increased charitable involvement through donation of employee time to local causes, plus sponsored and supported numerous fund raising activities. Our contributions have made a difference in many ways; something I am very proud of.
In 2014, Wind River was recognized as one of Madison’s “Best Places to Work” and we regularly receive accolades from clients and partners about the quality of our people and the positive customer service experience, After the Handshake.
Thank you for your support, feedback and loyalty throughout my turn at the Wind River helm. It has been a wonderful and rewarding experience; one I will remember fondly.
Mike Carow, who succeeds me in the leadership role, brings payments industry background with Midwestern experience. He is looking forward to working with you and you’ll learn more about him in his blog on April 27th.
I read somewhere that retirement is when you stop living at work and begin working at living. I’ve been a soldier, journalist, banker, accounting firm partner, business owner, consultant and executive. Now I intend to make the most of the next phase in my life as a grandfather, traveler, teacher, and fisherman plus so much more. Farewell.
